Chef Anni

Chef Anni, full name Annemarie Wheeler, is a passionate South African chef and cooking instructor based in the Centurion/Midstream area near Pretoria.

Before entering the culinary world, she worked as a lecturer in Computer Sciences. In 2014, she pursued formal training at the Chefs Training and Innovation Academy (CTIA), where she qualified as a chef and completed the advanced Pro course. This included specialized subjects such as cheese making, charcuterie, molecular gastronomy, and international cuisines. She excelled in her City and Guilds exams, passing with distinction, and is a member of the South African Chefs Association (SACA).

To further hone her skills, Chef Anni attended additional classes at the Prue Leith Culinary Institute in South Africa, as well as international courses in France, Thailand, and Mexico. Her professional restaurant experience includes roles at establishments like Kream (Mall of Africa), Val de Vie, Benguela Cove, and LUPA Midstream.

Today, Chef Anni channels her expertise and enthusiasm into Kitchen Addiction, her hands-on cooking school. The focus is on creating enjoyable, interactive experiences where participants learn practical skills while preparing and enjoying meals together—emphasizing “food, fun, and friendship.” She offers a variety of classes, including beginner courses (covering hygiene, safety, knife skills, and simple recipes), gourmet sessions (e.g., pasta-making, peri-peri chicken, or pan-seared salmon), themed events (like Valentine’s dinners), and custom options for groups, team-building, or dietary needs (e.g., vegan).
