Kitchen Addiction
Booking, Payment, Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy
Cooking Experiences | Midstream, Centurion, South Africa
- Policy version:
- 1.0
- Published:

1. Scope
This policy applies to all Kitchen Addiction Cooking Experiences, including:
- Social Cooking Experiences
- Beginner and Short Cooking Courses
- Private Dinner Experiences
- Corporate Team-Building Cooking Experiences
The terms made available to the customer at the time of booking apply to that booking, subject to applicable law.
2. Booking and Confirmation
All bookings are subject to availability.
Submitting a booking request does not automatically secure a place or event date.
A booking is confirmed only once Kitchen Addiction has received the required payment and confirmed the reservation.
For Social Cooking Experiences, customers may book between one and eight places. A social class proceeds once at least four participants have confirmed their bookings.
Beginner and Short Cooking Courses are limited to four participants.
Corporate team-building bookings are subject to the minimum group size, availability, venue requirements and agreed quotation.
3. Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is required to confirm a booking made more than 14 calendar days before the experience.
The outstanding 50% balance must be paid no later than 14 calendar days before the scheduled experience.
For bookings made within 14 calendar days of the experience, the full booking amount is payable upon confirmation.
All payments are made by electronic funds transfer (EFT), using the banking details provided on the official Kitchen Addiction invoice.
Kitchen Addiction does not accept online card payments through its booking website.
Customers must use their invoice reference when making payment.
If an outstanding balance is not paid by the due date, Kitchen Addiction may, after reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy the non-payment, cancel the reservation. Any cancellation charge or refund will be assessed according to this policy and applicable law.
4. Customer Cancellations
We understand that circumstances change. However, each cooking experience requires advance preparation, staffing, ingredient purchasing and the reservation of limited places.
Cancellations received at least 14 calendar days before the experience
Customers are entitled to a full refund of payments received, including their deposit.
Alternatively, they may request a transfer to another available date.
Cancellations received less than 14 calendar days before the experience
A reasonable cancellation charge may apply.
The charge will be determined fairly, taking into account:
- The nature of the booked experience.
- The amount of notice given.
- Ingredients purchased and commitments reasonably made.
- Venue and staffing commitments.
- The possibility of filling the cancelled place or booking.
- Relevant industry practice and applicable consumer law.
The cancellation charge will not automatically equal the deposit or full booking amount.
Any remaining refundable balance will be returned to the customer.
No-shows
Where a customer does not attend without prior notice, a reasonable cancellation charge may apply, potentially up to the full booking value if justified by the circumstances and permitted by law.
No cancellation charge will be imposed where prohibited by the Consumer Protection Act, including qualifying cases involving the death or hospitalisation of the person for whom the booking was made.
5. Rescheduling
Requests to reschedule must be made at least 14 calendar days before the original experience date to qualify for a fee-free change.
One fee-free date change is permitted, subject to availability and confirmation by Kitchen Addiction.
Requests received less than 14 calendar days before the experience will be considered individually. A reasonable charge may apply where the change results in losses or committed costs.
Any transfer is subject to availability, and any difference in price must be agreed upon beforehand.
6. Private and Corporate Bookings
Private Dinner Experiences and Corporate Team-Building Experiences may involve additional venue arrangements, staffing and menu preparation.
Final participant numbers, agreed menus, venue arrangements and any applicable booking deadlines will be recorded in the quotation or booking confirmation.
A reduction in participant numbers may be treated as a partial cancellation and may result in a reasonable adjustment to the booking charge.
Additional services and agreed changes may incur extra costs, which will be disclosed for approval.
Any special event terms must be disclosed before the customer accepts the booking and must comply with applicable consumer law.
7. Cancellation or Changes by Kitchen Addiction
Kitchen Addiction reserves the right to postpone or cancel an experience where reasonably necessary due to circumstances such as illness, venue problems, insufficient class numbers or safety concerns.
If Kitchen Addiction cancels an experience, customers may choose a full refund or a suitable alternative date.
If Kitchen Addiction proposes a material change to the agreed date, time or venue, customers will be informed and their applicable statutory rights will be respected.
8. Refund Procedure
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email or WhatsApp.
The date and time the request is received will be used to determine the notice period.
Where a refund is due, Kitchen Addiction will arrange payment by EFT to the verified payer, ordinarily within 10 business days after the amount has been determined, unless a different period is required by law.
Kitchen Addiction will provide an explanation of any cancellation charge deducted.
9. Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Customers must communicate relevant dietary requirements and food allergies before confirming their booking.
Kitchen Addiction will make reasonable efforts to accommodate agreed dietary requirements.
Our cooking environments may contain allergens, and complete prevention of cross-contact cannot always be guaranteed.
Our kitchen is not formally Halaal-certified. Halaal-friendly ingredients may be arranged where agreed in advance.
Customers with severe allergies should discuss their requirements with Chef Anni before paying.
10. Participant Safety
All guests participate in practical cooking activities involving sharp utensils, heated appliances, hot liquids and other kitchen equipment.
Participants are required to follow the chef's safety instructions.
All participants must receive the Participant Indemnity & Cooking Safety Acknowledgement and have an appropriate opportunity to acknowledge it before participating.
11. Alcohol and Conduct
Where permitted, guests may bring their own alcoholic beverages.
Alcohol must be consumed responsibly.
Kitchen Addiction may prevent a participant from operating equipment or continuing an activity if their conduct creates a reasonable safety risk.
12. Photography and Personal Information
Kitchen Addiction may offer participants the opportunity to consent to promotional photography or video recording.
Marketing consent is optional and separate from acceptance of booking terms.
Personal information collected for booking administration will be handled in accordance with applicable South African privacy legislation.
13. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy removes, restricts or overrides rights granted under the South African Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation.
Where a provision conflicts with mandatory law, the law will prevail.
